Stop Rehabilitating George W. Bush. It's Just So Unprincipled.

One of the worst Presidents of the United States, George W. Bush (R-TX) was extremely unpopular as he left office on January 20, 2009. After eight years of this dolt Dubya at the helm, we would have eight years of Barack Obama (D-IL). I mean, two wars, a severe recession, torture, a Vice President who shot someone in the face, and winning a rigged election, all of that will make you a polarizing figure, and he was one for eight years of his Administration and the eight years after. His Administration is usually ranked amongst the worst in history, but after Donald J. Trump (R-FL, and guy who deserves to be voted out this November) ran for -and was elected to be- President, Bush's favorability rating increased rapidly. And I just don't get it.

Almost 20 years after America "chose" a complete moron him to lead this Country, the thing that saves his legacy is the fact that America "chose" another buffoon to lead, and he's more polarizing than Bush in some respects. People burned effigies of this man. They called him for what he was: a war criminal. He got us into a war with a Country that had nothing to do with 9/11. A large number of people died due to that.

He pushed for a Constitutional amendment which would have banned same sex marriage. He doubled the national debt of this Country, he signed legislation which shot our Fourth Amendment rights in the face, he claimed to be a "compassionate conservative", yet the only thing he was "compassionate" to was being ignorant about the truth (he would not have led us to war if he acknowledged reality), and he was only "conservative on keeping large budget deficits in place. Bigotry (opposing gay marriage), and his record as President of the United States are something that is something milquetoast liberals have completely forgotten when they praise him -solely because he has been critical of Donald Trump. That is some unprincipled nonsense. Ellen DeGeneres got in a lot of hot water for sitting next to George W. Bush, and I have to say: that did not bother me.

But her "civility" card is nonsense when George W. Bush was absolutely not civil towards gay people by wanting to ban them from being able to get married. Civility should not be given to the man who destroyed the lives of millions, and economically crippled his Country, and his response is "I'm comfortable with what I did." The same people who relentlessly attacked his efforts to partially privatize Social Security, and his response to Hurricane Katrina, now praise him just because he's not a total asshole Donald Trump. Give me a break. I swear, when Donald Trump leaves the White House, the next Republican President will give Donald Trump a boost in favorability ratings, and I'll never allow those who bash on the President (like I do) to forget what they said when they are polite to him.

In the end, George W. Bush is a war criminal who should have been impeached, removed, and disqualfied for leading us into a war under false pretenses. Chao.
